Pasta bakes often don’t need anything to serve with them if energy and motivation are low; however they are delicious with salads, and some bread or garlic bread are great for filling up hungry tummy’s and making the pasta bake go further,
- Salads – A simple salad, like this arugula / rocket salad, Spinach caprese salad, pear and walnut salad or this simple German cucumber salad.
- Bread – Fresh crusty bread, garlic bread or air fryer garlic bread.
FAQ
Tube pasta shapes like penne, rigatoni or macaroni are the best shapes to use in a pasta bake.
Most pasta bakes can be prepped and assembled then stored in the fridge for 2-3 days before baking. However during this time the pasta absorbs the sauce which can make the pasta bake dry. If wanting to make your pasta bake ahead, I recommend making the sauce and cooking the pasta, then storing separately in the fridge and assembling just before baking. If cooking meat such as chicken to add to your pasta bake, make sure it is cooked all the way through before storing in the fridge.
